Wildlife has always been a massive part of my life, even as a small child dreaming of one day growing up to work as a zookeeper. Later in life, my friends would be out drinking and going to parties. I was usually the odd one out, preferring to be in the garden watching frogs than inside partying. I'm often the slightly odd one in any room, usually choosing the solitude of nature over social gatherings. I've often felt lost in life, directionless, as if something was missing, but this changed when I first picked up a camera. I had a purpose; the camera not only allowed me to share my passion for wildlife but also capture the beauty it beholds.
Growing up in northern England, my childhood and teenage years were spent exploring the endless coastline of the Wirral Peninsula, my days filled with climbing and playing on the beaches. Sitting on the rocks, gazing out to sea, a flash of white or a blaze of brown in the sky would often capture my attention. As they disappeared over the horizon, I would wonder what adventures these birds must have and what hardships they must face. It was moments like these that sparked my fascination with seabirds.
One summer, shortly after first picking up a camera, I was lucky to visit the wonderful Skomer Island, which proved to be the start of my journey photographing seabirds. This is where my passion for working with the Atlantic Puffin began. Puffins are unmistakable birds, with brightly coloured bills and a comical waddle. These traits have caused them to be known as "sea parrots" or "clowns of the sea." It's impossible not to fall in love with these charismatic seabirds, who never fail to put a smile on the face of whoever sets eyes on them.
Ever since, I have been drawn to the coastal regions of our islands: the ragged cliffs of Shetland, the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline, and, of course, my homeland, the Wirral. These coasts are where I live, work, and seek solitude and mean everything to me for the childhood memories they evoke and the opportunities they provide.

Online sessions are limited to 2 hours, and whilst we lose the hands-on technique of inperson tuition. They are a great way to cover techhnical, shooting styles, editing advice and general questions all crammed into a 2 hour session. A major positive of online sessions, is we aren't restricted by geographical barriers and I'm able to coach worldwide
